The Golden Valley server was brought online Jan 14, 2009, as a Free-To-Play server. The other servers were simultaneously restricted to be Premium-Only. Golden Valley is still online as a server to this day, however its function has changed several times over its life. As of November 2010, Freedom was opened to Free players, and upon completing the tutorial you would be teleported to The Howl on Independence. This meant it was no longer possible to spawn on Golden Valley, and exist outside of the tutorial.

There is a very small number of accounts, which were outside of the tutorial when the server was cut-off from the public, and as a consequence, are still capable of logging into the server and playing on it. It is for this reason that we track its population.

As of July 25, 2020 the Tutorial was moved to Haven, and Golden Valley now functions only as the login server for the game itself.
