Although no firm date exists, the closest estimate of when players were first able to cross over to Gold1 from Wild is around May 31, 2006. This marked the first ever successful server transfer, completed by Rolf swimming across the server's border. Gold1 first went offline as a result of Wurmageddon on April 25, 2007, in which the server was subject to fire and all data was lost. The server was restarted from seed on May 12, 2007 and remained online until both Home servers were officially shut down on July 15, 2009.
