Alpha is a series of maps which existed prior to Gold 1 & 2. They were the earliest playable maps, and few examples of their data remains.

This mapdump was taken by an old packet-sniffer program called "RoundWorm" which can still be found archived on SourceForge. The program (and the map data) was released and created before Wurm actually had a "Terms of Service" to break. The format was much different, so the colors have been restored to modern standards. WurmMaps does NOT condone illegally dumping map data - we reference it here only for historical and informational purposes. The original sourceforge repo with the original data can still be found, and Wurm's own patch notes reference the tool and fixes that were implemented to disable it.

This Alpha map was very short-lived, being brought online Aug 25 2004, and taken offline on Jan 24 2005. This dump was created in November of 2004. The dump itself was partially incomplete, and so there may be areas of land or smaller islands which are shown as water.
